Hill Dash
Gas, brake, and don't land on your head.
A hill-driving game with real car physics. Climb, fly over the crests, flip, and keep the fuel tank from running dry. Our third game, with Dash the bird behind the wheel.
Free. No download, no sign-up. Best on a phone held sideways, a tablet or a computer.
What Is Hill Dash?
Hill Dash is a driving game about hills. The car has a real body on two sprung wheels, so it bounces on the bumps, digs in on the climbs, lifts its nose when you give it too much gas and flies off the top of a steep hill. Your job is to keep it the right way up and get as far as you can before the fuel runs out.
Everything you do is physics, not animation: a wheelie happens because the engine pushes the car back, and a landing hurts if you come down nose first. That's what makes a good run feel earned.
How to Play
On a phone or tablet, hold the GAS pedal on the right to drive and the BRAKE pedal on the left to slow down or reverse. Turn the phone sideways for a wider view. On a computer, use the → and ← keys, and Shift for nitro.
- On a climb, ease off the gas when the nose comes up, or the car flips over backwards.
- In the air, GAS tips the car back and BRAKE tips it forward. Land on both wheels.
- Fuel runs down as you drive. Pick up the red cans to fill the tank.
- Nitro bottles give a rocket push on the ground or in the air.
- Tricks pay coins: flips, long jumps, wheelies and close-call saves. Land them within three seconds of each other for a combo.
70 Levels, by Day and by Night
Every world has ten levels, each with its own hills and a finish line. Reach the finish for one star, beat the silver time for two and the gold time for three. The first level of a world is about 300 metres; the tenth is a full kilometre of steeper hills.
Levels 1 to 4 are driven by day. Levels 5 to 7 are at sunset, with a huge low sun and pink clouds. Levels 8 to 10 are at night: your headlights light the road, the coins glow, and over Frost Peaks the northern lights dance in the sky.
Every level can be finished in the first car. The gold times are hard in it, and upgrading your car is how you bring the third star within reach.

Seven Worlds
- Green Hills: gentle hills, windmills and barns. Free from the start.
- Sun Dunes: long dunes of soft sand and pyramids on the horizon.
- Rain Jungle: mud patches where the wheels slip, rain and ancient ruins.
- Frost Peaks: slippery ice and snow. Go easy on the gas.
- Red Canyon: steep, rocky climbs under stone arches.
- Lava Ridge: lava cracks to jump. Stop at the warning sign, then floor it up the ramp.
- Moon Base: low gravity and enormous jumps.
Cars, Upgrades and More
Start in the Trail Jeep and save up for the Rally Car, Quad Bike, Monster Truck, Farm Tractor, Dirt Bike and Super Car. Each one drives differently. Every vehicle has four upgrades, each with ten steps: Engine for power and speed, Suspension for softer landings, Tyres for grip, and Fuel tank to go further. The paint shop has eight colours.
Beyond the levels: take a free ride as far as you can and win bronze, silver and gold medals in each world; run 30 races against a rival to the finish line; chase the ghost of your best run; finish missions; and come back every day for a growing reward and a new daily challenge worth 1,000 coins.
Tips
- Speed is good on the way down and dangerous on the way up. Let go of the gas near the top of a steep hill.
- In the air, GAS leans the car back and BRAKE leans it forward: about to land nose first, tap GAS; tail first, tap BRAKE.
- Upgrade the Engine first for levels, the Fuel tank first for long free rides.
- Save a nitro bottle for a long straight or a lava crack.
- Grab every fuel can. In a free ride they get further apart the further you go.
