Hill Dash Cars

Seven vehicles, four upgrades each and eight paint jobs. Every car runs on the same real physics, so each one really does drive differently: here is how they compare, and where to spend your coins.

All 7 Vehicles

The numbers are the ones on each car's card in the garage: top speed in km/h, and power, grip and fuel out of 100, where 100 is the best any fully tuned vehicle reaches. The first number is the car as you buy it; the second, after every upgrade is at its tenth step.

What Each One Is Good at

Not sure which to buy? The daily challenge lends you a different vehicle every day, tuned to step 4 in every upgrade: a free test drive.

The Four Upgrades

Every vehicle has four upgrades, each with ten steps. Upgrades belong to the vehicle you buy them for.

UpgradeEach step addsTen steps add
Engine11% more pulling power and 5% more top speedDouble the pull, half again the speed
SuspensionFirmer damping and springsSofter landings, steadier over bumps
Tyres6% more grip60% more grip on slopes, sand, mud and ice
Fuel tank14% more fuelAlmost two and a half times the fuel

What they cost. Each step costs about half as much again as the one before. The first step of an upgrade costs 150 coins on the Trail Jeep, 260 on the Rally Car, 380 on the Monster Truck, 520 on the Dirt Bike, 600 on the Quad Bike, 700 on the Farm Tractor and 950 on the Super Car. Taking one upgrade all the way to step 10 costs 21,560 coins on the Trail Jeep and 136,520 on the Super Car, so the early steps are by far the best value.

What to Upgrade First

  1. Engine for the levels. More pull means faster climbs, and gold times are all about speed.
  2. Fuel tank for free rides. Distance is all that counts there, and running dry is how most free rides end.
  3. Tyres before Frost Peaks and Sun Dunes, where the ground is slippery and the wheels spin.
  4. Suspension for the Moon and for big jumps, where hard landings bounce you out of control.

Spread your coins: three or four cheap steps in two upgrades help more than one upgrade pushed to the expensive top steps.

Paint Jobs

Paint is bought once, and then any of your vehicles can wear it. The factory colours are free.
